OVERVIEW OF THE TOUR

Starting in Escondido, SoCal you will follow the 2013 Tour of California Pro Race to each of its 8 stages, finishing in Santa Rosa, NorCal. Each day you will ride all or part of the official race stage, catching action at race starts, race finishes, or witnessing the epic mountain battles, the speed of the peloton or the excitment of the break from our selected roadside positions.

Watching this cycling race on television is nothing compared to actually being a part of the rolling festival of professional teams, support crews, media and spectators that travel along with the Tour of California, and you’ll be right in the heart of that for 9 days, staying in the in the same locations and becoming a part of the race action yourself.

Riding this tour you’ll get a true feel for the life of a pro. Many of the roads you ride will be closed to cars ahead of the race and you can enjoy the experience of riding on empty roads (…other than the roaring crowds and team cars!). On top of this you can expect first class support from CCSD and Hi-Tech Bikes, with our own tour mechanic, SAG support and follow vehicle.

Stage 7 is set to be one of the most exciting finishes of the Tour as the Queen Stage peaks on Mount Diablo. Here you’ll get access to the official VIP hospitality suite at the finish, with gourmet food and drinks and the absolute best spot to watch the race action.

AVERAGE DAILY MILEAGE, TERRAIN & COACHING
Rides will be designed to offer shorter and longer options so you can ride all or parts of the race stages and challenge yourself as much as you would like to. Rides plans will be finalized when the race routes are released but expect a mixture of rolling hills, some long climbs and some flat fast sections. Some clients in the past have managed to stay ahead of the peloton for the whole day.. think you’re up to it??

Structured training / professional coaching is available for those that want it and a pre trip training plan is included in the price of the tour.
